SANCTUARY
16 Aug ALLIANCE FRANCAISE

Set in 2050, Sanctuary follows the life of a middle aged couple as they differ on the impact technology is having on their lives following a government mandate that all citizens get the citizen chip that would allow them access to government services. Unknowingly they bring home a new piece of tech that is bound to wedge their differences even deeper as they come to terms with the deep love yet deep incompatibility they experience for each other

'Sanctuary' is a dystopian sci-fi reminiscent of Charlie Brookes Black Mirror that seeks to explore the themes of technophobia, alienation and government control as we navigate failing relationships during a societal collapse

Starring the Award winning Joyce Musoke and Martin Kigondu and directed and adapted by Santa Mukabanah, 'Sanctuary' is a surgical exploration of human emotions and the fear of intimacy - while offering an engaging dive into our addiction with technologically based relationships. The play will stimulate a debate of the future of technology and how willing to connect with it we are to feel a connection. This is a Prevail Presents production produced by Martin Kigondu
